Independent Research Opportunities
Ideally, a student’s experience in the core of the SSRMC provides the training and
mentorship necessary to embark on a meaningful, independent capstone research project, in the form of an independent study, a summer research project, or an honors thesis. Because of the early exposure to the process of research, students are equipped to design research that will make a contribution to their field of inquiry. If you are confused about where to start or how to proceed, read our guide to undergraduate research: Learning Outside the Classroom. To find out more about financial support on campus for independent research projects, see the Charles Center page.
