Center for Geospatial Analysis GIS Bootcamp

The Center for Geospatial Analysis will be hosting an intensive short course in spatial analysis from March 5 to March 9 from 10 am to 5 pm. March 5, 6, and 7 will be instructional days. March 8 and 9 will be optional project days. The bootcamp will combine lecture and hands-on exercises designed to teach you the basics of a GIS, introduce popular programs designed to work with spatial data, and get you started on using spatial analysis in your own research. The instructional days will show you how to create, edit, and transform spatial data; conduct spatial analysis; create digital maps and other spatial products; and develop advanced GIS projects. During project days, you will have the option to work on your own research with guidance from CGA staff. This event is open to all W&M faculty, staff, and students. No experience in GIS is necessary. Register here, and send any questions to Robert Rose (rarose01@wm.edu).
